Biography

*Mathematics is the alphabet with which God has written the universe” ~Galileo Galilei. I grew up in Santa Barbara, California, where I discovered that for me, life is better in flip flops. I served a mission in Chile, then studied at BYU, Spanish and Math Education. My husband and I have four kids who have gone to Mountainville from the beginning, we love that they were each stretched to learn and discover themselves here. Math has made a huge difference in my life, starting with a teacher who made it come alive for me. It's not only numbers, but also problem solving and structured thinking and habits. I get most excited when students brains come alive and faces light up with understanding and self-confidence. I love to travel, but when I'm at home you find me curling up in a quilt, or making one, with a Coke Zero or Costa Vida and Hallmark Christmas movies all year long.
