Costumes are welcome. Absolutely no weapons of any kind, no masks, and no blood and gore. Beginning at 11:30 will be our Elementary Halloween Parade.  Parents are welcome to come to the gym and watch as all our students show off their costumes.  Afternoon Kindergarten, because of their activities, will not be involved. Thanks for all the help with our Halloween activities around the school.
Spring 2014 Summative Testing Results
Last spring, the vast majority of our students in grades 3-9 took the SAGE assessments measuring his or her knowledge of the Utah Core Standards.  These standards reflect the knowledge and skills that students will need to succeed in careers and college.  Along with the Utah Core Standards, educators have also established proficiency levels on the SAGE tests.  The passing score for SAGE test are more challenging than in prior tests.  THIS IS NOT A REFLECTION OF DECREASED STUDENT ACHIEVEMENT; RATHER, IT REFLECTS AN INCREASE IN EXPECTATIONS.
On Friday, November 7th, we will be sending home individual student SAGE results with your student.  The report will have a Family Guide stapled to the front to help you understand your child’s assessment scores.  We are attaching a guide to the Mountainville Minute email so you can preview it and be ready to understand your student’s score report when it comes home next week.  If you have questions, please talk to your student’s teacher so we can continue our best practices in delivering the highest caliber of education to our students. We are proud to be a 7 Habits Lighthouse School and a school of choice where you are involved as partners with us.
Carpool Reminders
•         With Halloween tomorrow, we remind you to please never park in the emergency lanes or anywhere that is painted red.
•         Please refrain from using your phones at all while in the carpool lanes. We are seeing a lot of texting and looking at phones while waiting in line and have had some near misses where our staff was almost hit because of it.
•         Please DO NOT dropoff or pickup in the field by our parking lot.  This creates a hazard for students that are walking and also causes problems as you try to merge back onto the road.
•         The 10 minute parking is not for waiting and picking up students in order to avoid going through the carpool lanes.  We need the spots in case students are late coming out and we need cars to park so the carpool lanes can flow.
•         Patience is always appreciated!  Thanks to all who smile and realize we are all doing our best!
Afterschool Art Club
Art Club will not be happening on Monday, November 3, but will resume the following week as usual.  Contact Ms. Frei if you have questions.
Elementary Holiday Musical
There is still plenty of room for students interested in the Elementary Holiday Musical.  Rehearsals are Tue-Thurs 3:10-4:00.  For more information email Mrs. Webber at
Science Fair Judges Needed
We are now signing up for science fair judges! If you are interested in helping judge the science fair please sign up at here.
Remember we ask that parent NOT judge students that are in the same grade as their student, i.e. 5th grade parents should sign up to judge 6th graders. The science fair is on Wednesday, December 10th. All 5th and 6th graders will be participating in the science fair. Please contact your science teacher if you have any questions.
